Paige Lesko (C’22)
DIGITAL MEDIA & JOURNALISM
Congressional Intern, Congressman Guy Reschenthaler’s District 14 Office
“When I visited Principia, I absolutely knew that I had to be here.”
Paige hadn’t expected to attend Principia College. She’d been actively involved in theatre and was looking at other schools to pursue performing arts. But when she learned that she could still perform at Principia while studying other disciplines, her decision was clear.
“Principia has so many flexible options for students like me who have interests all over the board.”
Paige is now pursuing a digital media and journalism major and political science and music technology minors. Her diverse interests and Principia classes were an asset to her throughout her Congressional internship. Her political science classes provided a great foundation as to how government is structured and how bills get passed, while her mass communication courses helped her feel more comfortable talking to strangers. Paige’s role at the Congressional District 14 Office involved a significant amount of phone calls and case work.
Paige felt the internship met both her needs and those of the District Office. She received support from the Career Center, which was able to provide a stipend for the unpaid position, and she leaned on her Principia advisor, who felt more like a mentor to her.
Paige has been in three theatre productions and performed as a soloist for CSO. She has been a member of the tennis team as well as the College's chapter of Turning Point USA.
